The Goddard Space Flight Center Reception

The National Space Club has sponsored an annual reception for more than 25 years at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, usually in October, to honor the achievement of a particular group or program connected with the GSFC. Due to the timing of some recent changes in the administrative management of the NSC, it has been determined not to be possible to present this event in 2007, and there will be no GSFC Reception held this year.

We expect to resume this traditional event in the near future to further honor the achievements of this leading center of spaceflight activity and accomplishment.

On Tuesday, October 17, 2006 the National Space Club hosted its 25th annual Fall Reception at the GSFC. We recognized the efforts of the Procurement organization at Goddard that ensures the highest quality products and services are delivered to NASA by the many outstanding companies who support the work of the agency.

While NASA's missions and science results get most of the attention, Goddard's Procurement organization is equally dedicated to mission success, working tirelessly out of the spotlight to ensure a fair selection of contractors and optimum contractor performance.

For 2006, the National Space Club honored the efforts of these unheralded women and men who devote themselves to procuring the hardware and services so vital to accomplishing the mission of NASA.
